Morris Bamboo Sand Yellow

Paper-based model Morris Bamboo is clearly influenced by Japanese art. Architect and designer E. W. Godwin - who created this gorgeous pattern in 1872 - was known for introducing Japanese motifs and elements into the British tradition of wallpaper design. The result is a light, lively mixture in which the stylised bamboo leaves in warm golden yellow are joined by small sun and flower symbols in the background.
